This is our shortest trip to date. If it weren't for our plane clipping a pole as it was taxiing in, it would have been under 24 hours being gone. As it was, it was just over 1 day.

We decided to take a day trip to our nation's capital to take in a few sites and celebrate our friend Madhu's birthday! We had planned to leave early Saturday and do some touristy stuff before going out that night. We got up early and literally made it to the top of the escalators at DFW Terminal C when we realized we had forgotten Maggie's passport. (Travels with it because of name change stuff)

Oh well, back to bed for a few hours before we flew out again. We landed late afternoon and Madhu picked us up and took us on probably the quickest tour of the monuments in history. We got the jist though. It was in the plans all along to come back and spend a few days here so we didn't feel like we had to see it all in one fell swoop.

We went out to dinner and out that night with some of her cronies from "the Hill." She's a big shot politician in the making so it is imperative to stay on her good side. We saw a few other NU grads that were living in the area so it ended up being a pretty good trip.

It would have been perfect if our flight hadn't been canceled the next morning...the life of a non-rev I suppose. A stop in St. Louis and we finally made it back...26 hours after we first left.
